Anyone have information on how the Eurotunnel is functioning these days both from Folkstone and Calais for UK travellers? Is there much of a delay following Brexit and the ongoing Covid situation?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We went out on the 11th July & there were long delays. We had uploaded all our paperwork correctly & despite getting to Folkestone a couple of hours early we only just made our train.
On our return on the 24th we got to Calais a couple of hours early & got the train an hour earlier than booked.
From arrival at Calais Pet Reception to boarding took just over an hour. That is without stopping as the terminal building was closed, nothing in the car park.
After check in, all booths were manned no self check in, you were routed through the terminal car park and back out and sent round a large go cart track of red and white lane dividers. It's good fun when you're just over 38ft long!
You come out of that then it's passport control, only two booths open. Saw a good altercation here with a woman standing against the bumper of a car to stop it moving to let her husband go in front of it.
Then it's Border Control, which if you're from UK was actually quite quick, but as everything towing a trailer(Romanian) uses the same lane, hope you don't have a few in front of you!
A word of caution re Pet Reception, they have decided to use a huge chunk of a budget to plant a whole load of bollards in the car park, thus limiting where you can park if you have a car/caravan. It never was a car/caravan friendly car park before, even more so now.
Oh and only three of us in the high carriages.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
DH travelled out on 15th July. He says it was all very quick; aided, he said by the fact that he had printed off all his paperwork to show and this speeded things up, meaning he got put on an earlier train than he’d booked for!
There was a very cursory glance at our vaccination certificates (we had them printed as well), stamp of the passports & we were through. No one asked about food, could have filled the fridge!!!
