So ... after a two year, forced, absence, we will be returning to France in July ... Irish Ferries booked Dublin/Cherbourg return with cabins ... 85 euros!
Now, before you all start drooling with envy, I should explain that the crossing I had booked and paid for in 2020 had to be postponed, twice, but the credit was maintained by Irish Ferries ... so I just had to pay the difference between the two bookings ... but it feels as if we're travelling almost free!
Can't wait to get back to La Belle France.

If you are scoping out U.K. Insurers, can you report back on the “other thread” which you think is best? I’ll do the same. I had a very tall garage built with tall, wide front and back Hormann roller doors. The caravan is completely enclosed - walls and a heavy duty leylandii hedge on neighbour’s side, but even then, some insurers don’t like home storage. There needs to be a bit of flexibility to stop all the “computer says no” nonsense.
In any case, you know where I will be stored! Le shuttle Rebooked me for a very small additional charge. Let’s hope the virus does not metamorphosise before that.
WE are booked for April 3 but it is in the balance as we are waiting for repairs to our roof due to the storm damage.Insurance have yet to confirm start date of work.
Just as the borders open, the testing regulations are relaxed, the bloody roof loses some ridge tiles.
We carried over a Eurotunnel booking from 2020 and are off in early June, back first week of July. For once we aren't taking dogs, so a very different holiday! Can't wait.
