If by south France you mean Dordogne. Site we have been at for about 3 weeks is less busy than what was. It is the Assumption holiday weekend so plenty of French campers here are at the end of their hols & are packing up & going home.

If you want to come out now you will find sites gradually less busy so no probs finding space without booking imo.
