I am flying to Nice next May with my 3 children (aged 13 & 11)
I will NOT have a car.
I am looking to stay somewhere that is straightforward to get to on Public Transport, within walking distance of a town & has a nice pool etc for my kids.
TIA
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We have stayed in that area many times, mainly at 1 campsite, which I believe is now closed since Covid.
However, there is a train line from Nice along the coast, so that might be helpful for choosing a campsite. There is also a regular bus service.
Be warned, this is a very busy, noisy, brash area, so unless you are away from the coast road you won't get any peace.
There is a campsite called l'Hippodrome, listed on here, it's described as Villeneuve-Loubet, but is on the edge of Cagnes sur Mer, a smaller seaside town with lots of sandy beaches and a fabulous promenade for cycling or strolling. We intend to try it next time we're down there.
Further west, there are a number of campsites near the station called Biot, though Biot village is about 5k away up towards the hills. Some are reviewed on here, the one we used is Logis de la Brague, seems to be closed just now. Lots of folk used to turn up with tents from the train or bus. The beach there is stoney and access to the sea is challenging.
West again, the next beachside campsites listed on here are at Frejus, we've never stayed there but others on here are regulars. I don't know how long it would take from the airport.

I am not sure whether you have a driving licence or not - but if you do you can pick up a hire car when you arrive at the airport and go to other campsites away from the city. Nice only has a pebble beach and your children will prefer sandy beaches further away .
