Hi, Potentially very good news................to catch up on news!
After sky altered the footprint we tried watching UK TV on ipad via a VPN, it was not a success and we now dont bother, but if something has changed??
Most of the UK TV channels, via the likes of iPlayer recognise an internet connection as outside the UK and therefore block it. The reason for employing VPN is to disguise the location so it thinks the connection is within the UK. There are some websites that allow you to do the same but unless you pay a fee you get loads of adverts.
JSParkes - whereabout are you? I know that people in Calais, northern Belgium and Holland can get BBC Channels - and always have been able to, because we've watched them many times in various Chambres d'Hote, but outside of a crescent along that coast it's always been (and stil is for most people) virtually impossible. In fact contrary to being able to get BBC many more people are reporting that they can't.
Further down this forum is another post about BBC Channels and explanations that they've moved from SD to HD and therefore reception is now different. Perhaps that's why?

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Both me neighbours here in Agde can get Uk TV on their phone/ tablet without a VPN, one of them thinks things have changed and a VPN no longer necessary.
So that seems to answer my question.
