No queues at 'LeShuttle' when we crossed at 1:20pm yesterday. We headed straight to La Bien Assise in Guînes and enjoyed the afternoon sunshine, now are taking the Rouen, Évreux, Dreux, Chartres route then will decide where to head (the weather in Bordeaux area looks pretty good for the next couple of weeks).
If you're in France at the moment (or will be, later this summer), why not post on here and give any tips, advice or recommendations, be it on weather, road conditions, sites you love or are disappointed in, especially good shops or markets etc? Or just general chat, if you like.
To start, we found an amazing little boulangerie this morning in Wailly Beaucamp (a good place name, given our choice of holiday 😀) with delicious pastries and really outstanding baguettes. Makes you realise you've arrived in France!
The roads this morning on the non-toll route past Rouen are clear. The sky is blue and it's sunny and warm.
Over to you...

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We’re on our way north now for a few days by the sea. This is one of the better days we’ve had weather wise. Currently sitting by a river watching duck families. Chartres site was busy last night, loads of teenagers in tents, some accompanied. The new facilities coped well though, the cleaner was kept busy this morning. The site had dried out well since we were there 2 weeks ago, and said they’d had little rain since.

We're still at Neufchatel en Bray, had a nice bikeride yesterday afternoon and sat out until about 8pm, when it started to cool off a bit. Just had a look at Bordeaux area, as we like it around Arcachon and the Dune de Pilat, but it now shows rain from Saturday 3rd-Tuesday 7, except for Monday the 6th........Yesterday it looked better there for the next 15 days
May still head for Brittany tomorrow, still looks ok there, apart from some strong winds in the next few days. Had also looked at Burgundy, but that doesn't look good either.

There is another excellent boulangerie in Pont de l'Arche for anyone staying in or near there - absolutely delicious patisseries, savouries, and baguettes! Even worth a short detour.
We spent last night at La Grande Tortue in Candé-sur-Beuvron, intending to head to the Dordogne today. But, the forecast has changed again so we're now heading for the Vendée. Any site recommendations welcomed!
This is a great idea with very informative information. I hope to be going to France later in the year so will keep an eye on this. Many thanks to everyone.
We’ve been here 2 weeks tomorrow, another 5 to go!
We’d intended heading down to the Auvergne this week, but given the cool, wet weather down there, after picking up our caravan from storage near Cherbourg, we stayed a few days longer in Normandy and then at the excellent municipal site at Courville sur Eure near Chartres, before moving to near Blois yesterday. We’ll stay here till after the Pentecost Bank Holiday weekend, then check out the forecast again. It’s been quite breezy at times, but dry and mostly sunny, and has warmed up nicely over the last 10 days or so. The weather’s certainly been better in the Loire and above, since we’ve been here, for a change, but apparently they do need the rain in the rest of the country.
The best boulangerie we’ve found so far this trip is at La Haye du Puits, just off the main road down past the post office. Their traditions are really good and the cakes delicious and less expensive than in many places.

Nous arrivons le 3 Juin [:) pour 6 semaines
Can't do more than 2 weeks, not fair on the cat, and I don't want to be away from UK for too long due to work at present.

Changed plans again, as you do now east of Tours. Weather good, at least until the end of the week. Whitsun weekend meant the site we wanted to stay at was fully booked. Good job we rang to check before setting off.
Travelling through Rouen no problem, went D6015 Pont de l'Arche, Evreux, Dreux, Chartres, then N10. The only holdup was the N12, as usual, St Remy sur Avre.
Came past a couple of Gendarmes with speedguns at the side of N10. Speed limit was 110 at the time (dual carriageway), but we never do more than around 90-96 towing, so no joy out of us
Still sitting outside, 9.20pm, with the obligatory glass of wine
Ok - I'm cheating because we live in the Dordogne.
First evening this year I've sat outside with the laptop - and a rather nice beer (only drink wine with food which finished half an hour ago).
Been a warm and wet spring - not unusual down here - turn your back on the lawn and it's grown an inch - but getting our first crop of cherries from our trees, loads of fresh asparagus in the shops, water in our pool a comforable 28C, bats flying around, had a great tit parent feeding chicks on the railings of our vernadah, jay feeding on fallen cherries.
T shirt and shorts weather through to end of September I hope (end of October last year) and swimming in the Dordogne.
Tourist season started early again, camper vans / mobile homes almost outnumbering tractors.
How did the "Rapido" brand get it's name? Followed a couple in the last week that take a couple of miles to get up to 40 mph unless going downhill.
After a relaxing stay near Parthenay (in 27 degrees!), we're now heading for the west coast and deliberating between Île de Ré and Île d'Oléron, so suggestions welcomed please...
The skies are blue and it's another scorcher (aircon is on max!).
We found a FABULOUS boulangerie en-route, in Fournil Marais. Works to the pavement obscured the front but once inside - wow! Food in France is a passion and it really shows here. Totally puts all English bakers to shame.
A day of all things motorhome and campervan. The show is held both in the main indoor arena and across the grounds. Catering, hot drinks and food options are available. Easy access to the site and free parking included. Win one of five pairs of day tickets
