help required! I'm wanting to buy / subscribe to tag service so we can whizz through tolls. Ideally we'd like to be able to do this in France and Italy. What are my options please? I got stuck registering for bip n go as it wouldn't recognise my IBAN as SEPA compatible, so I've got stuck!

Is there a solution out there that allows us to pay with card instead of Direct Debit? Can we simply no longer use bip n go?

thank you

Phone Emovis on 01423 299017 (it’s in Harrogate) and ask if they can supply a tag that covers Italy as well as France. I know their tag is OK for both France and Spain but not sure about Italy. You will pay in sterling rather than euros - and dearer that way of course

Just been using our bio n go on our motorhome trip to st tropez. Didn’t realise till it arrived there’s a 3m height limit. We are 3.2 at the front.

Turned up at first peage straight through!! Didn’t click till the next peage though that of course they didn’t measure our height as was the entry peage. Feeling chuffed we rolled up to the “pay” telepeage to be refused access. “Wrong class”.

Pressed intercom, said “camping car” and up went the barrier. This happened a couple other times. Only once did the barrier raise of its own accord. So now looking for a class 3 tag, as we weren’t popular (understandably) blocking telepeage lanes to use the intercom.

Triaxle, The tag for class 3 and 4 vehicles is called a TIS-PL box (in French that is Transports Inter Societies Poids Lourds). The Toll Tickets company can supply them -either on loan for the duration of your trip or for a whole year. Few motorhomers have them and they aren’t cheap.

Emovis don't appear to do Italy. As a side note they are the most expensive and we will be changing ours after this trip.

A company I've never heard of, ulys, does Italy as well as France, Spain and Portugal.
I will check this one out later.

We have an ATMB tag registered to a credit card, but I think they probably only cover France.

We use Bip&Go and have done for years. The basic coverage is now France Spain and Portugal and can be extended to include Italy in our customer account.

As far as I can see if your vehicle is class 3 you do the same as anybody else at the barrier and it should rise after you hear the beep. You will be charged the class 3 rate whatever that is.

Bip&Go no longer accepts credit cards so we use direct debit from a Starling bank Euro account which we opened online. Works fine

Bip and go won’t go class 3, that’s the problem.

Ulys is VINCI... who run some of the french autoroute s and several carparks ( where I believe the tag can be used). Tried to get one of their tags for my son last year but both he and I couldn't get the system to recognise a credit card for payment - they wanted an IBAN number for our current account and the systems didn't recognise that so we gave up! I sent an email about the issue but received no answer.

Yup I stand corrected but undeterred I found this

https://ffcc.fr/conseil-pratique/peages-autoroutiers/

which is a special scheme for camping cars. Haven’t gone too far into it but it appears to be just what you need 😀

Thank you ever so much at blueexpo97 it looks like ulys does what I need it to (France and Italy), does it for a very reasonable €9.90 shipping plus €2 / €2.40 monthly charge when used in France and Italy respectiveky, and most joyfully of all has left me register and enter my uk IBAN bank details for the direct debit. Fingers crossed, this is the solution I have been looking for. Thank you again, I'm very grateful! What a wonderful community! 🙏❤️

Good to know. I'll let my son know so he can try for their tag this summer.

new challenge is finding a bank that allow sepa payments as I received an email yesterday from ulys saying the application had been halted.

I have a bank account with santander and with smile (co-op). Both failed when trying to register with bip n go, hence I'm still down the "rabbit hole" trying to find a solution. HAve just messaged smile to ask, and called santander yesterday who definitely don't facilitate direct debits in euro. I'm thinking I may just be with the wrong bank.

Any suggestions gratefully received and looked into!
