Hi, we are going to overnight in nimes, and unsure wether to stay at a site near pont du gard and visit nimes to see the amphitheatre or stay in nimes and visit pont du gard campsites we looked at were la bastide and sousa not sure if correctly spelt !

If you're in Nimes long enough the Jardins de La Fontaine, just up the road from the ampitheatre are worth a visit.

We did Pont du Gard and Nimes when we canped at Mon Plaisir, St Remy de Provence (S of Avignon, E of Nimes)

I'd think you're best camping near Pont du Gard.

Stay near the Pont du Gard, rather than in Nimes itself, because the Nimes site is used by a lot of 'itinerants'. Camping Les Gorges du Gardon is (in my opinion) the nicest of the site options there.

We ended up staying at sousta for the night as reception was closed plus the pitches left were difficult access
