Sprite1275, if you are serious about Switzerland have a look at camping Eigernordwand at Grindelwald. Closed now but re opening before Christmas for the ski season. You don’t get more spectacular than there at the foot of the Eiger. Wrap up warm.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Personally, I am not comfortable with driving in icy and snowy conditions even in the UK. Hence my last trip of the year will be over the New Year weekend.

Nice thanks for this. Have you ever been in winter? Obviously I know the mountains will be full of snow but wondered what the roads are like at lower levels regards snowy Icy conditions.
If you are young and hardy fit some snow tires and go and see. It’s motorway all the way to Interlaken and you can easily get as far as that - even if the final hill up to Grindelwald is icy.

Scotland?
What sites would you head for that way on for a bit of snow?
Look at where the five ski centres are. Then look on the UKCS site search for sites open all year nearby, with good reviews. The one closest to the ski runs is at the base station of the Glencoe Mountain resort at White Corries; it’s small & basic but has toilets etc.
I’d suggest if you’re fancying snowy Switzerland, focus on that. You’re guaranteed snow at lower levels, paths for walking and roads that are kept open.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
