hello looking for a site in south west france du bournet sounds good.
I'd like to know if there is public transport near the site . We will be in a motor home which once parked wont move until we leave.
It would be good to know there is transport near so we can visit places like sarlat etc
Thank you

You can get from Le Bugue to Sarlat by train - but on an indirect route with one change taking an hour and a half. and you might need a taxi to get back. Otherwise hire a small car for the duration of your Dordogne visit.
Live 10km S of Sarlat a couple of km S of the Dordogne river.
What time of year are thinking of coming? If outside July/ August then a visit to Sarlat staying in one of the Aires du Camping Car a short walk from the town centre tagged on to the start or end of your stay in the Dordogne might well be the best bet.
If you don't want to move off site then eg Le Capeyrou at Beynac may be a better bet, On the banks of the river with walks S along the Dordogne - short walk into the village with plenty restaurants, a Vival convenience store just outside the campsite gates, boat trips on the Dordogne...
Public transport in the Dordogne pretty limited and aimed at commuters to Bergerac / Bordeaux or Perigueux / Agen.
We have stayed three times at this site, no nothing about public transport, but I have put a review on Google maps (worth viewing). Great site. Pitch 20 is massive and can be prebooked for a small amount

Le Bugue is a gorgeous little market town - market on Tuesday and Saturday, lots of shops bars and restaurants and a good Intemarche which would be about 20 mins walk from Park Bournat. If you've got bikes it's an any easy ride along a flat greenway to Limeuil in one direction and les Eyzies in the other. From Les Eyzies you can cycle to Tursac again on a greenway although I believe this is a bit hillier !
If, as Longcol suggests, you are interested in hiring a car for a day or two, you might be better at Le Port de Limeuil. We have hired their little Citroen both times we've stayed there as my husband has mobility problems and it's the easiest way to have a good day's sightseeing - this year we went to Sarlat and then Rocamadour in one longish day! It's also a fabulous campsite although there isn't that much in the (very pretty) village other than a coupe of restaurants. They also have a selection of bikes to hire including e-bikes.
