All the cheap crossing seem to to be on the Dover Calias and routes round that region. Anyone one know of a cheap way of getting across on the western side, not to bothererd about which route just as long as we leave out of Portsmouth Poole area. Been on a few sites and the cheapest is £350 is the cheapest for our Romahome. We plan on leaving on the 1st of July for 2 weeks but we are flexible.

Have you tried the Caravan Club or the Camping and Caravan Club? They bulk book, so can offer cheaper deals - well ours seemed to be cheaper than buying on line. Good luck!

I booked with Ferries.co.uk and they got me a sparkling deal. £150 return from portsmouth to Le Havre. Try them they were very helpful.

If you are a Tesco customer use your clubcard tokens as they have deals with P and O. Each £10 of Tesco vouchers gets you £40 off a P and O crossing. We had enough Tesco points to pay for the whole £450 ferry crossing. Note P and O now only have the one Western crossing route from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Maybe Sainsbury have a simimilar system with Nectar points?

The P&O Portsmouth to Le Havre crossing ceases after September this year but there are some good deals to be had untill then.The only operator for the Western crossings after Sept will be Brittany Ferries so I expect their prices will increase dramatically as there will be no competition.
