Now that CAMC are no longer providing Red Pennant insurance cover, does anyone have any suggestions for breakdown cover for a year 2000 motorhome?
My friends who have a motorhome have a package of annual insurance plus breakdown recovery imsurance - just as car owners who don’t tow caravans do. It’s quite common to set up a combined package of that sort. Every time I renew my annual motor insurance I am asked if I want to include breakdown and recovery cover.

Someone told me yesterday that the CAMHC are moving to P J Hayman - a travel insurance company dealing with backpackers, 'Free spirits', etc!
P J Hayman deal with more than that though: as an ex-NHS employee I am a member of the NHSRF. One of the member benefits is travel insurance, either European or worldwide, which is by P J Hayman, under the trading name of NHSRF Travel Insurance. They're the same as the NFOP (CSIS) Travel Insurance and both of these are for those aged over 40's/50's respectively.

"CAMC is using Greenflag for European breakdown cover and is planning to reintroduce the Red Pennant name for personal travel insurance in the future".
I have been holding out for what the CAMC is going to introduce, but had done some research into alternatives.
Two I came up with were, Eurobreakdown and RAC European Cover
Not really that much in it between the two, but of course none of them have personal cover, unlike Red Pennant.

The new CAMC Mayday European only covers vehicles under 16 years old.

I'm covered by nationwide flex account £18.00 a month motorhomes up to 7.5 ton. caravan covered when towed UK and Europe AA backed also any other vehicle I may happen to be a passenger in.
part of the package is travel insurance up to 31 days can be extended for extra payment also extra payment may be necessary for medical issues this is backed by Aviva, also mobile phone and tablet insurance included.
Lately I have been checking out NFOP for travel insurance as it has 60 days away and as far as i can see no medical restrictions other than fit for travel at time of holiday also no age limit up to 79 longer if you are already with them see Ina post above to see who their part of.

Do you know who that is with? MH is insured through the CAMC.

We already have annual travel insurance through LV. UK breakdown is tacked onto the breakdown cover for another vehicle, but the company don't do European. That's why I need stand alone European cover for our 29 day trip in June - oh, and we are taking a dog with us.

Joanna, Have a look at Comfort InsuranceCo. Many motorhomers use them. If your annual motorhome insurance is with them you can add on European breakdown cover.
