I heard this morning that since UK Caravans can now be registered, and have their own number plate, that this means that some French insurers will cover the caravan both for storage, and (importantly) being towed on the road. If you store in France, and were a victim of the Towergate decision to stop insuring (we had two weeks notice), this may be a potential solution.
Unfortunately I can't publish details of potential insurers as they came through a third party who owns a storage site. But you could ask your storage site owner to explore this with their insurers if your caravan now has a registration number for Europe.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

And for us, too. We brought it back to the UK to do some jobs and it is unlikely we'll be taking it back again.
However, for anyone else affected send me an email to valathome2010 at hotmail.co.uk or my other email address which some of you have.
Hi Val, I'm sure you are aware, but there are plenty of British caravans already in France which are for sale. Kris usually lists a few and most sites offering storage have some.

I did pass on this information and details of a France based insurance agent I’ve contacted previously, to someone enquiring about insurance for a France based van on a different website.
They have now got insurance for their van, so have benefitted from your post.
Thank you Val.
