As Halifax has moved their Clarity card from Mastercard to Visa, with a change of number, they have been sending messages reminding me to check any regular payments. Yadda yadda, I thought. Then woke up in the night, and remembered I pay for the toll tag that way. And for my ACSI subscription. I’m now wondering what else I’ve forgotten, elderly brain being what it is. Anyway, updated details; only to remember ATMB invoice on a monthly basis, in arrears- my panic had been pulling up to a péage with a wonky widget. Oh well.

At least with credit cards they eventually go out of date after which they won't process payment.

I had the same middle of the night thought a couple of days ago. For some reason, I can never log in if I try to go into the ATMB site via Chrome - it happens every time. However, I managed to go via a previous email from them so all is well. I think the only other site I need to change is ACSI and I will do that in due course.

Hello, I had a look at my ATMB account to try and change my payment card to my new Halifax Clarity but couldn't see how to do it. Can anyone give me a clue as to how to do it please?
Thanks

Thank you for posting - not heard anything about the change - presumably they are gradually working through customers.

I have not heard about the change either, my card runs out latter this year. I think Tesco did the same, but the other way round some years back.

I updated my Halifax Clarity card now that it has become VISA, it was straight forward to do on the ATMB website, but it does not work with some web browsers, so just a case of using a different browser if you are having problems.

From what I can tell, the ATMB Tag only becomes active when inserted into the holder, which will of course extend battery life, although renders the Tag useless if you try using the Tag whilst not in the holder.

There seems to be different types of ATMB Tag, so the above may not apply to your Tag.

We mislaid our holder some while ago, but have used our tag in a number of vehicles - either by leaving on the dashboard, or by waving it about. We are still on our original tag and battery, so there's always a breath-holding moment when we use it for the first time on a trip!

PS. Good to see you posting Francais - it's been a while since I've seen mention of you.

Hi thanks JoannaLesley.

I think it is on the newer Tag's that have this feature, ATMB have issued different styles of Tag's over the years.

I can see on my ATMB Tag a small slit, which has what looks like a microswitch, that is activated when the Tag is introduced to it's holder, in effect turning it on, the Tag holder has a thin plastic probe, which appears to activate the microswitch.

To be fair I have not had the opportunity to use my ATMB Tag since getting it in April 2024.

Our last trip to France was June 2019 so we are long overdue to return, hopefully that will be next year, so will give the ATMB a test then, both out and in it's holder.

Both my previous Tags Bip & Go and APRR worked fine out of the holder, still have both Tag's but they both stopped accepting CC payment after Brexit, and required a French Bank account for payment, I had been using both Tag's for many years, don't you just love Brexit !
