We thought we might use this site but the approach to it appears to be through a rather low and narrow arched railway bridge.
The three reviews on here do not mention any issue with the bridge, but they are from the owners of 2 campervans and 1 motorhome - we tow a caravan (6.5m long, 2.4m wide and 6.5m long) which I presume will be bigger than the campervans, if not the motorhome.
Any reassurance (or otherwise) gratefully received!

Have you done a 'drivethrough' on google maps? The sign before the bridge over the road to the site indicates 3.2m height...
BUT where is the 3.2m height? Is it the apex of the arch, or the upper height of vertical side walls!
I've avoided a few arched bridges in UK because the combination of nominally acceptable height is a bit 'squeaky' at the width of my van! In UK, the height is usually marked on the bridge at a given width, so you know whether upper corners of vehicle likely to foul the arch!
Hi, yes, I saw that but wasn’t sure whether if 3.2m is the bridge’s highest point (it curves in with being an arch), the width (unmarked) would be sufficient for our van to get through without the top sides catching on the edges (if you understand what I mean).
Looks like we both had the same idea Monty, but you expressed it much better than I did!

North of Poitiers, so may not be any good but Le Petit Trianon de Saint Uistre is a lovely site.

The TGV line runs between the approach road and the D910 but my husband has just reminded me that you go over it, not under it!
There’s also Camping du Lac de Saint Cyr near Poitiers which is a lakeside site with pool and snack bar. We stayed in Sept 21 but I would think it gets busy in peak season,
