I am very interested in going camping to Sardinia and
wondered if anyone could recomend a nice site to stay at or a good
web site to llok at. Family with 2 kids, aged 5 & 7 going in school holidays, looking
for nice campsite very near beach/in forest but not butlins style!
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

We've just left Camping Isuelda in north east Sardinia (just above the semerald coast) and can recommend it. Our tent was yards from the sea and there are plenty of beaches around.  There are a few supermarkets nearby as well. Would recommend this site. We looked at a couple (as our ferry arrived at 4:30am) and this was the best. The one out on the spit on the northern coast wasn't as nice as it looks.

Most campsites will get very very busy though in the summer by the looks of things.

Yep, sites do get very crowded between july and august. Traveling will also become hairy during that period, either by car, train or ferry.

Thanks for the info, got two great camp sites to consider. Now got to decide whether to drive and take our own tent or fly and use an on site tent. Comments please?

Before hitting your head on the wall, I'd suggest you to give them a ring and see what the available options are for the period in question: tents, statics and pitches might be all sold-out already!
Same goes with the ferry companies (in case you decide to take your car): they usually are completely booked by this time of the year.
