Hi All,

Going to La Rochelle area on West Coast of France in August. This will be our first time abroad in the tent.

We have a UK 4 way power block, it has a large round 3 pin socket on the end for connection to site power, I think its called a "commando" socket. My question is will this work in France ?

Secondly, can I take my regular "Blue" gas bottle on ferry and into France for use on gas stove ?

Thanks alot, Nick

Nick -

Lot of French sites do use UK type hook-ups these days - but equally, many use a continental type - any decent camping and caravanning shop will sell you a continental adapter for £5 to £10. It has a continental 2 prong plug at one end (with earth socket) and a fitting for your round 3 pin blue socket on the other.

As for your gas bottles - fine on ferry, just make sure it is switched off (and preferably disconnected).

Jon
