Just a quick lesson for anyone going away to France - it is compulsory to carry your UK driving license with you, and if you are as unorganised as me and not used to driving abroad, it might be an idea to start looking!

It took us four hours of searching to find mine last night. I only started looking (a week in advance) because a friend had had a similar experience. Unlike your passport, this  is one thing which is disastrous to lose at the last minute. There is no travelling to Liverpool (or Swansea) to get a replacement. The best the DVLA can do is speed up your application (they give you a special address and code in extreme circumstances) but this still can take 7 days.

Anyway, found mine eventually, so we're all set for the off (and the other half doesn't have to do all the driving down to Grasse!!!).

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
