Does anyone know if it is OK to stay overnight at Le Havre. Our ferry gets in at about 10.00 PM and we are stopping about 50 miles away in Normandy so I don't think the site will be open to receive us some-how. Also is there a supermarket nearby to shop at before going to our site. Any advice would be appreciated.

Camped this Summer near Honfleur, just over the pont de normandie from Le Havre (approx 20 minutes) There is a large Le Clerc on the way into town. There was a parking area on the way into the town for motor homes that looked like it catered for  overnight stays ( not sure about caravans). You could check with the tourist office at honfleur e-mail office-du-tourisme-honfleur at wanadoo.fr

Hi,
Yes it's fine to park up at le Havre. We have done it several times. There are always a number of caravans & motorhomes there. You can use the ports toilet & washing facilities. Not sure of the supermarkets there, but you're sure to pass some on your route.
