I am looking for a campsite near atlantic coast suitable for a family with 5 and 8year old boys. Hubbie doesn't like big sites. Must have pool and large pitches. I have seen two sites with under 200 pitches which appeal. They are Lou p'tit Poun and Le col d'ibardin about 16 k from Biarittz both 3 star sites. Has anyone been there and got any thoughts or can anyone recommend anywhere. What's the area like for site seeing and weather for early August

we stayed here last year http://www.biarritz-camping.fr/ in May, weather then was great - August would be too hot for us.   At low tide can walk along beach to the town, and get a bus back.There were some sites north of Biarittz which seemed to be in a good position, but can't remember the names.

We stayed here a couple of years ago http://www.pavillon-royal.com/pavillon-royal/ a really super site with direct access to the beach. Pitches are of a good size, its got a lovely swimming pool, good shop and site restaurant.
