Hi everyone, please could any of you knowledgeable people help me to find any campsites in the loire (or close to) region with fishing available. I don't mean the commercial type venues, I'm not interested in catching humungus carp, just interested in coarse fishing in general. I also enjoy fly fishing, so any information for this would be very helpfull. I have been to Saint Catherine de Fierbois which I enjoyed, but it would be nice to try other campsites.

 hi alan , we stayed at de l'etang at brissac last year and had a great time.theres a lake on the site with roach , bream , carp and catfish in. the carp are mostly small with the odd one to about 5/6lb .the cat fish were a nuisance though , taking anything you threw at them and they weighed 4oz max.eventually got rid of them by fishing over g'bait.theres also a small river running through the site which i fished. cought carp ,skimmers and the odd chub all in a1 condition. did see some trout cruising about as well. a dutch guy who we met went further afield and caught some big carp [20bl+].

Hi Alan,

we have a river that borders two sides of our rally field here at Le Chant d'Oiseau. I've caught decent sized chub in there just for fun. There's also the Plan d'Eau down in the village around 3 kms away from us. There's also great river fishing to be had on L'Authion at Longue, and there's a few other good spots at Breille, La Guedeniau etc. Then of course, there's the mighty Loire!

If you decide to travel further into Charente Maritime, were here at Twinlakes,

Twinlakes hence 2 lakes, - the bottom lake with trout, roach, perch and small carp up to 20lb have a try in the Loire and then wet your net with us.
