 Wondering what this site is like in the Loire Valley tried to book Chateau de Marais through the caravan club for the 5th Aug for 10 days but no availability though they could offer us pitches on this site. Wondering if any other members had stayed here and could let me know their views. Have checked for reviews but could not find the site when I looked for it.

Hi Mountain Runner,

We really enjoyed our 18 nights there. It was the most peaceful site we have ever been to. Arrived there about 23/07/2006 and at no time was the site ever more than half full. Site very easy to find. Shop is very limited. Bread etc. has to be ordered the day before. Take away home cooking is on offer. Smallish but adequate pool. Plenty of large pitches but a few are sloping and would not really suit your TT. Staff speak good English and the facilites though quite small are spotless. Huge play areas if you have kids. A bit more basic than your average Castels site but the peace and quiet more than made up for it. Good value. Can e-mail you some photos if you hit my link below.

Many thanks for sending the photos Aliguth, it was great to get more of an idea of the site.

Has anyone else been? More importantly, has anyone with kids (9 & 5) been? We've already got our tickets to Futuroscope thanks to Tesco Clubcard, but what else would we regret missing?
