We are planning on going to Ile de Noirmoutier first 2 weeks in August. Has anyone been to any sites there they can recommend, or indeed recommend to avoid! We have a trailer tent so need good sized pitches.

Any help would be appreciated please.

I have visited the Island, but never stayed there, one thing to remember is the bridge gets busy during summer, both ways, so may be better to stay on Mainland instead, lots of canpsites locally, but not sure of any names, St Jean De Monts is about 30 minutes away, and thats where I have stayed when i am there.(Le Bois Masson - Haven / Siblu site)

we visited last year but didnt stay there.worth a trip over le goix though if your nerves are up to it. more fun than the bridge !!!

We love the island but traval to it as a trip throught he holiday. We too stay on the mainland a little futher south than St Jean - we stay near St Gilles. Having Googled camping Noirmoutier - brings the odd result. Why not take the chance and contact the site direct and ask them the question. I would also be reasonably quick in doing that, sites around the Vendee fill rapidly during the summer holidays. Good Luck, we booked our site last summer.
