Had two fantastic weeks touring Holland, thanks for the advice from people on here, it gave us ideas for our route and many suggestions on sites. One of the best places with fantastic people that I have been to, was not ready to come home....already planning next trip..
Just proves what a great site this is..

I love Holland, as you say the people are very friendly and helpful. The parts of Belgium I have visited have been the same. Some of them speak English better than we do!
Good to hear that you enjoyed my country. Hopefully you had some nice weather as it has been changing a lot lately, from steaming hot to pooring rain.
Whereabout hasve you been? west, east north or south (or centre). I know, it's just a few hours driving but there are vast differences.

most of the places that you suggested,..started at Delft then Amsterdam then Arnham then Bladel then back to Delft, last two days a bit wet and overcast but other than that very, very HOT, too much for the dog and bikes.Visited many places within each area that we stayed and can honestly say that I am well travelled but never been to such a fantastic country and met such nice people. Hubby normally gets fed up after 5 days or so but wanted to stay...that says it all..
Just another word, if anybody plans to visit Holland, please dont overlook it wth France and Spain, but seek advice from WLEE. again this site is the best for local knowledge...

It might say that the beer tasted much better than expected....
Anyway, good that you enjoyed, There are so many nice places other than the well known ones.
For the next time maybe some of the Frisian old towns like Sneek, Franeker and the like. Possibly combined with windsurfing at the 'Lauwerszee' or IJsselmeer, if you have sporty types in your family.
Or if you would go to Limburg, near Valkenburg you could do a cycling tour in the caves...
Have fun the next time.
