Roads...............long things with white lines and lots of traffic! And in Holland they all drive on the wrong side!
Sorry, couldn't resist Usually wlee isn't on until later in the evening so needed to get rid of the sad blue face. He's bound to be along later though, unless he's away himself.
Just come back from Holland, had two fantastic weeks touring, had many great tips and suggestions from wlee, did a thanks a couple of days ago which he responded to, so he is about....anyway, roads and signs great, far better than U.K had no problems whatsoever...diesel cheap too! have a great time, we enjoyed it so much hope to go back in September....

Was a bit busy, no opportunity to be overhere regularly, not even late. Plus things are a bit more busy at home too due to a car accident of my OH.
Traffic signs largely are the same as in the UK. Most are harmonized in Europe now.
The regulations for roundabouts are a bit different than in the UK though. You will see many priority signs these days and 'shark teeth' on the road. These indicate if roundabout traffic has priority. Without any of those the roundabout is considered as a straight road by itself hence traffic from the right would have priority.
Now within cities they mostly changed to the UK-system with help of traffic signs reversing priority indicating that traffic on the roundabout now has priority.
But do watch whether cyclists have priority too or not on that particular roundabout! They are not consistent in this respect. Look at the traffic signs and 'sharks teeth'.
Something else: until recently 'slow' traffic would have to give way to 'fast' (motorized) traffic. This traffic regulation now also has changed. All traffic from the right, including cyclists' has priority, unless indicated otherwise by traffic signes (e.g. priority crossing).
For the remainder, about similar signs as in the UK. P for parking, triangles to warn for general or specific things. Speeds of course indicated in kilometers.
Max speed in town 50, unless a 30 km/h zone is indicated.
Motorways 120 km/h, but on long tracks 100 indicated or 80. Secondary roads 80 km/h max.
She is more or less OK. Bruises are getting less. Ribcage and sternum still very sensitive, plus a nasty spot on the hips adn her back goes up and down a bit, but all in all this is nothing by what normally would have happened.
Safety belt can be seen printed in blue on her body, mild burns form the air bag: both did an excellent job.
She made a small mistake, but the other car was speeding. Hit her by some 110 kmh at least (IN town! on this place 70 km/h allowed), her car was from slow forward speed totally catapulted backward for about 20 mtrs, than up a high threshold to stop in the middle between both road parts, than he hit another car (BMW) and managed to turn that backwards too. The Road was closed for about 5 hrs for investigation of wrecks and tracks.
That should say enough.
You would not want to see the car wreck.
She has seen all machines in hospital, echoes, X-ray, CT scans etc etc.
The policewoman when calling two days later could only react with 'WHAT???' when she heard that nothing was broken.
So nasty accident, no more car, but all in all it seems that after the unfortunate factor of having an accident, at the moment of the hit all little angels sprung to help her to limit the personal consequences.

Sounds awful Wlee but at least she is safe and on the road to recovery. It sounds like it could have been much, much worse. I hope she feels better soon.
2. One cannot really say that safety belt and air bag added to the injuries. These bruises and 'underskin' wound(s) actually are proof that they did their work. It's kind of subsitute much smaller injury.
She developed a theory.
It was a few minutes after 24.00. So the guardian angels had fallen asleep. But at the moment of the hit the suddenly woke up in shock and all came flying in like Superman....
The other guy actually gets legal proceedings. The police booked him for an 'article 5 procedure': Dangerous driving with third party injury resulting. These proceedings let you meet the judge in 95% of the cases, so no fines to pay beforehand, nearly all in court.
I must say one thing: the Rover 1.4 was an excellent car as to the body (Motor rather sensitive). The safety cage was still more or less intact, hence no crushed legs etc.
You would not believe how small a car can get and still maintain inside space...
Fortunately she slowly is able to move around again, every day a little bit more. We made a nice cycling tour last weekend (feels good for her back) and she has been doing some driving again in my car already.
I will tell her your good wishes.
