Hi all, just booked for a fortnight at Camping La Ferme Des Aulnes (just south of Le Touquet, Picardy) and wondered if anyone has an suggestions for things to in the area? Plus any comments on the site as I couldn't find any reviews.
Thanks in advance.

When are you going? We're going on 23rd July - sorry can't help much on things to do etc but I believe there is a theme park not far from the campsite and Le Touquet is supposed to be nice. We're also contemplating a trip to Disneyland Paris on the train but still debating the logistics of that one!
The site looks lovely doesn't it? We didn't want to travel too far into France this year and so this seemed ideal. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather...
Blimey - we are going here too! Arriving July 23rd for 3 nights! How spooky is that. Cant wait to hear if any others are going - we could have a british camping meet!
Maybe we can arrange to meet up for a beer. We are only booked for 3 nights but can extend if the weather is great and we love the site. It certainly looks good.
We are there for 7 nights and on count down now. Just hope we all get decent weather. We stayed in the Vendee last year and it was v hot-not expecting the same temps this time but am always hopeful for a heatwave...
Stayed there last year for a few nights. Nice site. The swimming pool enclosure was good - they open it up in good weather and close it when it's coller. Not sure what's to do in the area as we only played golf - there are 2 course quite close by.
We have stayed there twice - its a lovely site. There is quite a lot to do within an hour or so. Le Touquet is very nice with a great beach, there is also a steam train at St Valery sur Somme ?, and an amazing underground village. The site has information on many places. One thing we noticed is that the restaurant on site will close early if its not busy, so if you come back at 8 wanting a meal they may have shut at 7 !, which includes the bar. There is a very nice restaurant on the junction of the main road. The pool is good and the owners are very friendly
------------- we are where we are - where are we ?

Well - were just back from France. We were booked into this park for 3 nights and when we got there thought this looks nice. Were shown our pitch and (a) it was too small thought they knew what size we needed (b) there were cigarette ends and food lying all over the pitch and (c) the grass/earth was the most uneven we have ever seen. We could not pitch there and had to find another at extremely short notice and in high season. - very disapointing. To cap it all, I had sent the camping cheques which she could not give back cause she had sent them to the company to reclaim the money. She gave us someone elses cheques so hopefully I will be able to use them - maybe not as they were not issued to me.
Nice site but again - its the staff that cause the problems. If they had given us a big enough site ie planned better, we would have been happy.
Hope the others had a great time - it did look good.
We had a great time down in the Loire Valley and have come back to a pile of washing and loads of wine!!
Just opened a bottle of french red myself! Sorry you weren't happy at La ferme. I know what you mean about the uneven pitches but we decided to grin and bear it and it wasn't too bad. We didn't see any litter at all so hopefully it was just one lot of inconsiderate campers who left their calling card. Glad you had a great time in the Loire. My memories this year of France are extra special now as my father in law died last Monday very suddenly and my photos remind me of a time when my husband was happy...wish I was back there now.
Without realising it, we watched you being shown your pitch and realised that you weren't impressed. The night before that pitch had been used by 10 young Dutch lads staying in 3 tents. We were 2 pitches down and had been quite worried. However they hadn't made too much noise but we did notice them all smoking and alot of cigarette butts had been left. That pitch and the couple next to it were probably the worst on the campsite. I'm sorry that you were offered it as we had a fantastic 2 weeks there.
Small world eh!! Sometimes its not till later you realise that you have already spoken to someone on line.
We had a great time at the site about 3 km away for 6 nights, one near eurodisney for 3 then one at Futuroscope for 3 before heading back to Calais for our ferry. A stopover at Birmingham and Cadbury World and home by Sunday night - we had a great time and met some lovely people, some of whom are also addicted to this site, like me!!
Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet you - we should all have caps or something.
