We are a family with a 9 year old daughter and we are looking for a campsite in Normandy (around Omaha Beach) that is peaceful (ish) and accepts tents.
We are going on 14th August for a week.

All we require out of the site is that it is clean and has toilets and showers...that's it.

Anyone got one to recommend?

Thanks
Mike

Carentan Municipal site 'Le Haut Dick' and Tourlaville near Cherbourg 'Camping de Collignon'. Although we don't go in August so I don't know how 'peaceful' they are then

Mike,

we can recommend Chateau de Martragny.  It's about 25mins from Bayeaux and 40mins from D-Day beaches.  We thought it was peacfeul, swimming pool, fishing pond.

we were there last year for a week and are going back the same week which you are looking at.  I booked on-line the other night.  If you send them a reservation request, they will confirm the next morning.  Their website is

http://www.chateau-martragny.com/reservation.htm and it looks like they accept tents.

Hope that's of help - MartyK

MartyK

Thanks for that, I have located it on the Sat Nav and may well drop in for a look.

Maybe we could meet up and help each other devour some alcohol?

Thanks & maybe see you there .

Mike
