Hi there - I haven't ever camped in France but as a 1st timer also we have just had 4 days camping in Dorset!! We had the best time and are without a doubt addicted already. I have 3 small children (2,4 & 6) and they slept in a pod on their own. I also had the same concerns you have but believe me, as a mother I don't think you ever go into a very deep sleep again for the rest of your life and the slightest noise (especially a zip!!) would definately wake you. You kind of have one ear on it all the time. Plus we found with all the freedom and fresh air, our kids were SO tired that they probably would've slept through a hurricane once they were asleep!! Hope this helps - have fun, Debbie x

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
