We've had our hols for this year and are now thinking towards next year.We took our caravan to France for the first time this July and just loved it,great weather, great roads, nice people.Anyway what I was wondering is about some members who have used their Tesco points to book their ferry crossing.I've looked on the Tesco site but can't see any ferry companies,it is Brittany Ferrries we want to go with,I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks again,Irene

Yes, we've done this. You need to change your vouchers for airmiles, which can be exchanged against ferry cost. OH did this when we went to ireland (irish ferries)last year, but couldn't use them on calmac when we went to the outer hebrides this year. I'd have a look on the airmiles website or give them a ring.
We used the Tesco vouchers at Easter to go Ireland with Stena Lines. We had to exchange our Tesco vouchers for Stena vouchers then send them on to Stena Lines.
Try the link for the travel clubcard deals. I couldn't see Brittany Ferrries but if you get stuck you could ring Tesco clubcard deals. They are generally very helpful.
We have used Tesco Club Card points on Eurotunnel. I think they used to do the P&O longer crossings but as most of these have been axed it only leaves Portsmouth/Spain. Why not think about the tunnel?

I think it is only P&O and the Tunnel that Tesco deal with for crossing the Channel to France. For every £2.50 voucher that you exchange for a Deals voucher you will get £10 towards the cost of your fare. The link shown in an earlier post will give you full info
Tesco points - P&O ferry ompany and Euro tunnel across the channel. The Hull -Zeebrugge crossing will suit us - less driving in the UK more driving in Europe BUT the same amount of driving overall at a reduced rate for fuel and quieter roads, in lovely countryside. We were surprised how close Zeebrugge was to Calais. Met folk in France who'd come down from Scotland and done that crossing in preferance to the southern routes.

Totally agree Penine Plodder, it takes us just under two hours to get to Hull, but sometimes it has taken us up to seven hours to get to Dover dependng on the dreaded M1/M 25. Two years ago it took us ten hours to get back from Dover to Chesterfield because of an accident in the Dartford Tunnel, so we save our Tesco Vouchers to make the crossing Hull/Zeebruge and we will be off on September 9th using Tesco Vouchers, long may they carry on
I haven't used the Tesco vouchers - must look into that, but we nearly always use the Hull crossing. Good long crossing with a decent night's sleep, arriving at a sensible hour, plus we dont have to drive through southern England (M25 etc ...)
I had a look at the P&O site as we live in the NW and Hull is only 125 miles away whereas Dover is 300 and you have the god awful M25 I am interested and will look into it properly when the ferries take booking around October time but I did a dummy run and wonder how on earth P&O justifies charging £120 each way for a cabin!!!!!

Can someone explain how you go about exchanging your vouchers for P&O vouchers, we have been saving ours for a while now but how do you know how much you need to get changed? We will be doing a Dover - Calais crossing. I don't want to lose out by changing too many.
Hull is just over an hour, and Dover or Portsmouth should take 4.5 (no stops) - this year it took 7.5 to Pompey - the British roads and weather were the cause.
If you go onto the Tesco website and scroll down to clubcard and then clubcard deals, it explains how to redeem your vouchers. You have to have your deals vouchers before you ring up and try to book your ferry but doing a dummy run online should give you an idea of the cost. I would also check that the Dover Calais route is included as I think it may only be the longer P&O routes but you can use the tunnel.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
