Don't know yet we are sailing to Bilboa hoping to go to the Picos de Europa and then make our way across country to Provence as we have heard such good reviews about it.I will have to work out mileage etc but we are not going till next june .Could you give me a rough idea of the mileage or time it would take to get back up to Calais from Provence 'Do you go back through Burgundy don't want to go on the mad peripherique!!!! I will keep the campsites you have all reccommended they look lovely thank you
Sorry for late reply been away. The georges du tarn was fantastic. Did some white water rafting which was superb. Visited the Lavender fields which was also a fantastic sight. Some wonderful walks with great views. Would recommend it. We are off to the Dordogne in July 07. Never been before, looking forward to it. Booked my ferry and on countdown already. Any info would be appreciated.
Well what can I say about the Dordogne ,it's beautiful.Go canoeing no rapids i'm afraid lol visit Sarlat ,Domme and Beynac. The aquarium at Le Bugue/Vezere is good for the kids also while your out that way go to le Gouffre de Proumeyssac a fantastic cave with a sound show it was amazing.Don't know if you've thought of a campsite yet but we stopped at the Deux vallee lovely site dutch owners very friendly and overlooking the site is the fab castle at Beynac . any more info let me know.
Have you thought about the Lot - really very beautiful, less touristy than the Dordogne but with similar scenery. We found the people much more open, maybe because there weren't hoards of brits for them to deal with! It is about an hour or so further south than the dordogne, but worth it I think. Can't recommend campsites though as we stayed in a Chateau (lovely !) Jackie
