We liked Le Pas Opton at La Fenouillier just outside St Gilles.
Also another really cracking site is Le Garangeoire. A Camping and Castels site, it is about a 10-15 minute car ride from St Gilles but it's in lovely surroundings with great facilities.
we stayed in St Gilles last year in a camp site called camping de beaulieu( may not have spelt correct) was ok - walking distance to beach and town - not a short walk mind !
toilets clean ( which is always my main critteria) pool good, site small shop terrible ( i think they had one can of ravioli on the shelf - not kiddin) and very overpriced
pitches were good though - but if i had to be honest dont think i would go back there but i am very fussy ! hope that helps ! good luck

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We stayed for one week last year at les Biches, which is in a forest about 2 miles from St Gilles. Our two teenagers, aged last year 17 and 15, really enjoyed it. We did not really like the site, but did'nt expect to as what they want is now totally different from what we want!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
