Hi just booked ferry to Bilbao for July this year. Anyone with any experience of/advice on sites in the region?

Found one near San Sebastian - Camping Igueldo - looks quite good but open to other suggestions.

Also anyone been on the AT Ferry? How did it compare to others? What were costs/quality of food on board like?

Cheers.

Hi there,

I've also just booked this ferry, and it looks good to me (especially the price!).

Re sites; we are going for a month in July, and plan to do a round-trip through the Rioja region, over to the Pyrenees, visit Pamplona when the festival & bull-running is on (6th-14th), then back to the coast for a week.

Playa Joel at Noja is a site we visited 2 years ago, and I'd definately recommend it.

Sites & links I am looking at for this trip are:

The Pamplona festival (good links to sites on here):

Hope this helps.

we spent a couple of nights at Camping Igueldo  last year - very handy for bus into San Sebastian / Donostia - but may get noisy there seemed to be several groups in the static area.

Also stayed at Camping Arrien at Gorlitz, handy for beach and access to metro to Bilbao Bilbo, nice people speak English

both sites seem very popular

I was a bit concerned that there might be a rowdier element so close to San Seb.

We are planning to head inland and head for Carcassone via Andorra on a wee 5/6 day tour before heading north via Clerment Ferrand and Dijon for La Forge St Marie to meet up with my daughters who will probably be working there this year.

Any site suggestions en-route welcomed. I think we will avoid Pamplona during Sans Fermins, Considering Zaragosa as a stop off.
