Not really caravan related but I still think that there are some of us that also go in aeroplanes from time to time!!!
Anyway, now I am getting old I have a couple of worn discs in my back which don't cause me any problems other than occasional bouts of backache which are managed by pain killers.
Being an honest sort I tend to come clean with the holiday insurance companies working on the theory that if it can go wrong it will go wrong!!!
But this year they seem to be really charging a huge amount of extra money for this back complaint.
I was wondering if anybody has found a good / cheap insurance company that don't seem to load to excessively for medical conditions?
I am beginning to wonder if the time has come to just take a chance and not bother including the back problem and going anyway......
All advice appreciated
Cheers

We also get free annual worldwide insurance with Cooperative bank but you could try www.insureandgo.com I have used them in the past and their cover is very good. I suffer back problems and need the occasional painkillers but it wouldnt occur to me to tell an insurance company. I wouldnt class my back problem as a major medical issue that I would need to tell an insurance company about. Its only an occasional thing.
IF you have declared some sort of ongoing problem that may have caused you to have to make a claim in the past, and now decide to `hide` it, well..... IF you then have major problem whilst your`e away you may have a bigger problem trying to get some sort of recompense from the insurance, they would ask for medical records to see if there are any previous problems, if there are, then you could be in the soup for not declaring the back situation on the form , wouldnt take the risk personally, you never know whats round the corner,

Try www.travelcover.co.uk who do a quote online where you can put your medical problem into the site and get a quote without having to ring up etc. They also cover up to 70 year olds.
I couldn't recommend insure and go - I had a lot of bother telling them about an illness I suffer from. I'd notified them when I took an annual policy out and had to tell them again when I'd had an attack of the illness and it didn't seem like they'd taken it into account when I took out the policy in the first place. In the end they charged me a £45 surcharge for my 2 week holiday, which seemed a bit steep to me.

Actually, I've just taken a look at www.travelcover.co.uk and they'll cover me at normal terms despite the fact I have seen a specialist within the last year. The website's great, you just type in your illness and you get a series of questions about that particular illness and how it affects you.

What Coop bank account gives the free insurance, I have a "Smile" account which has no mention of insurance
Mine is a Privilege account. There is a small monthly fee but it has loads of benefits that are actually useful so I pretty much get the fee back in savings. We go abroad four times a year so the insurance saves us loads as it covers my partner as well.

I have received my travel docs. from www.travelcover.co.uk and it confirms that it includes cover for my medical declarations by name e.g. hypertension. Mind you I have never had to claim from them so I do not know if they are any good. Maybe someone can tell me as I want to book another trip soon and I have to do it as a single trip as I am over 65.
