Can anyone recommend a nice site in Burgundy? I know there are a few that have been reviewed but I can't decide! I am looking for a quiet site with lots of space. We don't need lots of facilities, just bar perhaps but that is not essential. We are going at the end of June. This is the first year it will just be OH and me plus dog and no kids! so I am looking forward to doing what we want to do without all the shopping and cooking I normally do on holiday with teenage boys in tow.(I will miss them though)
I would welcome any recommendations!

We stayed for a few nights at the ACSI site in Parcey, Les Bordes de Loue. The pool was very welcome, it was very warm weather in June. There was a little village within walking distance, with daily farmers market type produce, a couple of small shops and bars.www.campingcard.com Last year, in June it would have cost you 12€ with 7 nights for 6 offer, that works out at 72€ for a week inc dog and EHU. Bargain.!! There were no marked pitches, just a large camping area with plenty of large trees in it for shade if required. Pick a tree and pitch up! Very laid back.
There is also a nice site at Dole, just outside the town, walk along the canal towpath to the Sports bar, run by an ex-rugby player, who made hubby very welcome!! Dole is the birthplace of Louis Pasteur, and there is plenty going on. It's an easy walk into town and to a hypermarket. Lots of shops and restaurants, as you would expect in a largish town. PS. The campsite pool was being refurbished when we stayed there. Will be done by now.
The municipal site at Beaune is very good - an easy stroll into town. It's also very popular, and if you haven't booked you need to get there early in the afternoon (we were there in June.
It's worth bearing in mind that Burgundy is very diverse - The Vineyards of Dijon/Champagne, the warmer area south of Beaune/Cluny etc & the hills and lakelands of the Morvan.
We've stayed in the Cluny area and also in the Morvan. If you're looking for lakes, walking, hills, forests, wildlife etc. I'd recommend the Morvan area. Old hills south of Avallon and north of Chateau Chinon. Has 3 large lakes - some commercialised for pedalos/canoes, some just quiet for the ospreys and occasional human dipper.
Lovely campsite in Ouroux en Morvan - Camping les genets. Cleanest site we ever visited. Not much there - quiet village, nearby lake, tennis court, forests and lots of quiet. Balmy summer days looking at cows and being stared at by a donkey. Will return sooner rather than later ..... but it is off the beaten track. In the Morvan, holidaymakers are overwhelmingly Dutch or French.
The Morvan also has more commercialised areas such as around the Lac des Settons and Montsauche les Settons.

We love the Chateau de l'Epervière at Gigny, just south of Chalon. It has spacious pitches, a very calm atmosphere (apart from the ducks on the lake!), indoor and outdoor pools, a bar and a really super restaurant. It also accepts Camping Cheques, which in June would keep the price down to just over £10 per night. They do get very busy towards the end of June, so advance booking would be wise.
We have stayed at La Grappe D'or just outside Beaune and Le Lac de Panthier at Vandenesse en Auxois. Would recommend them both with a slight preference to the 2nd.
Thanks for the advice. They all look great. I think we might go for Chateau de l'Epervière but I think we would be happy with any of the sites recommended
Thanks again and I'll let you know how we get on!
