We are planning a trip to Germany for our family hols this year, we've never been over the water with our caravan before and having three young children and a teenager to take along makes us all the more apprehensive about the whole thing. We were thinking of a ferry to Calais, then a stop over for the night, then travelling on to stay in the Rhien Valley/Black Forest area, any suggestions for good campsites and any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

We are staying just south of Colmar on the German border this year. Last time we went to the Black Forest we camped at Kirchzarten near Freiburg. Very handy for the ParcEuropa. Wonderful for kids and Dads of all ages. Beautiful area. Good luck and don't worry about the driving....it's a doddle.
