Anybody recommend a cheap but pleasant hotel in Valence, it is only for a one night stopover en-route but I want to stay somewhere where I will get a good nights sleep!

Just to bring you to the top again - can't recommend a specific hotel, but there are loads of budget hotels on the way into Valence from the first motorway exit. (Formule 1, B and B, Etap, Quick, Fasthotel, etc.,). We've stayed in most types, and standard vary as you go up in price (Formule 1 only had modular bathrooms, not en-suite) but all can offer a good night at a fair price - something hard to find in this country.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
