I have been to this area numerous times to mobile homes ,I am going to be taking a trailer tent for the first time .Can anyone recommend good sites for a Trailer Tent as I have been in Les Genet in the past and all the touring pitches are small and cramped so I will not be going there.

Stuart

Buy yourself the Alan Rogers Guide for France which contains on pages 140-156 numerous inspected sites inand around St Jean de Monts, or use the site search facility on www.alanrogers.com . I inspected a lot of sites in this area in 2006 and would honestly say that you will find better sites further south in the Charente-Maritime area. The best one is Bois Soleil, 2 Avenue de Susac, 17110 St George de Didonne email: camping.bois.soleil at wanadoo.fr , web site www.bois-soleil.com

Sequoia Parc  near St Just Luzac sequoia.parc at wanadoo.fr and Garangeoire garangeoire at wanadoo.fr near St Julien des Landes are two of the sites in the Les Castels collestion of sites - not to be missed.

Some other examples are Camping Acapulco (email: info at sunmarina.com )

Camping la Foret email: camping-la-foret at wanadoo.fr

Camping les Adventuriers de la Calypso email: camping-apv at wanadoo.fr

Camping les jardins de L'Atlantique email: info at campingjardinsatlantique.com

La Garangeoire in St Julien Des Landes which is a few miles inland from St Jean de Monts has enormous pitches, the biggest I have ever seen in France.  It is a very nice rural site but you need to car to go anywhere.
