Hi
I need some advice on my Marauder 450ct.

I have started by buying a new leisure battery, but the last time the caravan was used we had no electric whatsoever!
The water pump worked but didn't pump any water to the tap and the fridge wouldn't work (I think the person who sold it to me saw me coming) we changed fuses in the Zig panel but still no luck. The fridge worked on the gas but not electric.
The van didn't have a leisure battery but did have a car one (I have just bought a leisure battery), I am hoping it is the battery.
If not then my next port of call will be the Zig CF9B panel. I am tempted to take everything off and start again just to make sure the electrics are wired in correctly.

Just wondered if anyone has had similar problems and if there is anything simple I may be overlooking, I am also quite new to all of this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Cathy

Your fridge won't work off the battery unless you are hooked up to the car with the engine running, otherwise you need to have 230V hookup.

A caravan fridge will take a long time to cool down,it doesn't make any noise you may need to leave it on for some time then feel if there is any warm air coming out of the vents.

A car battery, although not ideal, will work just fine for most purposes, that's all we had on our last caravan. Unless you are in the habit of staying on sites with no EHU, then you will need the capacity offered by a proper leisure battery.
You say the water pump works but didn't pump water to the taps. Has it worked in the past, or was this your first time with the van? If you have never used it before, did you bleed all the air out of the water pipes?
Checking the battery charging is easy if you have access to a volt meter. Connect the voltmeter across the battery terminals with the Zig unit mains switch turned off, then switch it on while you watch the battery volt meter. It should rise slightly when the switch is turned on.

If the van is plugged into the car socket with the engine running all the interior electrics except fridge and battery charging should be isolated so shouldn't work.

If engine not running but plugged into car, the internal electrics run off the cat battery but only if the car socket is wired to enable it.

If you say that you had water flowing at the bathroom but not the kitchen, then the chances are a micro switch in the kitchen tap has failed rather than it being a battery problem. What happens if you turn the bathroom tap on then the kitchen do you have any water flow at the kitchen tap then?
