We want to replace the jockey wheel on our van the problem is the one we want to replace it for is only 42mm and the clamp is 48mm.
Is there anyway round not having to replace the clamp so it can fit to the 42mm jockey wheel or is it a case the clamp is just to big and would need replacing.
Theres no way around it that would not be a bodge. Either get a 48mm jockey wheel or fit a 42mm clamp. If the caravan originally had 48mm jockey wheel then it would be better to fit 48mm. They are not that dear 20quid odd.
A reduction in diameter is probably not a wise move, as this may allow a 42 mm dia to bend more easily. Remember the inner shaft of the JW has an even small diameter.
