Hi just had the caravan serviced by a local workshop which they found the whole front end of the caravan is suffering with damp ,the caravan was bought and 'serviced'in DEC 2015 which they failed to do a damp report or omitted to give the report as it was under warranty ,I have contacted the firm multiple times but no contact had my money and then ignored me ,I made a mistake buying here I should have bought locally as its a two hour round trip from where it is stored.
Should you not have asked for the damp report if they did not hand one over.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
i viewed a twin axle lunar eclipse there, i drove 3h each way to see it.
the caravan was a 2009 but was really tatty.
i took my damp meter and didnt find any damp aroud the top of the walls by the roof...i then looked under then bunk bed. the floor was so rotten the corner steady had pushed up through the floor and i could see daylight through the hole. the wall board was soaking wet and there was a bracket fungus growing under there
i reported this to the lady on dudy and she cheerilly said 'all caravans have a bit of damp'
i then decided to take a look at another on sale whilst we were there.
there was a bucket under the roof light collecting the drips and the cieling board was water marked.
i got back in the car and drove home quickly.
if i was selling a caravan i would at least present it to people in a sellable condition.

joe blogg you bought the caravan over 2 years ago, as harsh as it may sound i don't think you have a leg to stand on, even if it was a brand new caravan you've left it 2 years between service, so would invalidate your warranty
Hi it was serviced every year but they didn't disclose the damp report in 2016 which I paid for it was serviced by a local dealer 2017 were they found the damp in the front.
You should be able to claim under the Consumer Rights Act as one would expect a caravan to remain damp free. This may be an inherent fault however the caravan is not durable taking into consideration the price paid.
Approach the dealer in the first instance and ask them what they are going to do about it. If they reply nothing, remind them of the Consumer Rights Act which came into force in Oct 2015.

Remember your caravan is 9 years old now so little hope of the dealer doing it free unless it has a ten year warranty
A warranty is a worthless piece of paper as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or even SOGA over write any warranty all the time. It matters not whether the caravan is 3 years or 20 years old.
