Hi we got our new awning up Kampala pro 390 it rained all day yesterday and the roof is pooling water behind the middle of roof behind centre beam any ideas how to get it run of done all the tension on pegging and guy ropes
We had the same problem with one of our air awnings. We now use the Kampa packing pads. We pump up the awning to around 6 psi then put one or two pads between the caravan side and the air beams then pump up to 9 or 10 psi. This helps the roof to become more taut. I think it depends on how level the pitch is as to whether you can get the roof right so the water drains off properly.
We have the slightly smaller 330 model, but to all intents and purposes the same. And we also have exactly the same problem you describe with pooling water. No matter how level the pitch or how the awning is erected, I have never been able to completely eradicate the problem. I think it's just a feature of these air beam roofs. Luckily it has never been too much of an issue, but it isn't good.
Would putting the van on ramps help? I am assuming your awning rail height is standard - around 235cm to 250cm.
Perhaps a phone call to Kampa or the dealer?
I had this problem which was solved by making sure that the centre beam is in line with the two outer ones and not slightly forward as I had it. This raises the centre beam at roof level so rain can run off more easily. The correct pressure is essential too.
I wouldn't accept it as a feature of air awnings, I had a cheaper one before the Kampa and this didn't pool water.
