Use propane gas. Winter vents on fridge. If you have an external water tank (aquaroll) buy a cover or lag is and the lead to the van. Bit of antifreeze in the waste water tank. Porch awning always handy for us. Watch out for campsites having freezing water supply taps hopefully they'll be lagged - not always the case. Watch out for flood warnings. Go wherever you like, for me a pub with a roaring fire that does good food would be ideal. We are only recent converts to all year caravanning - its great.
We go every year and love it. Go somewhere not too remote and within easy reach of, or on, a main road in case of icy conditions. We are going to a pub called the Shrewsbury Arms (under Tarporley, Cheshire) for my birthday soon. Apparently they do Christmas day lunch hampers of food to heat in your caravan microwave.

We like going to Christmas markets, usually home at Christmas and New Year for family but out again in January. There are more sites open at Christmas /New year than there used to be but as with anything if you want it book early. Shame this takes away some spontaneity. I think there's a lot of repeat bookings for Christmas and New Year. If we didn't have grandchildren we'd probably go abroad perhaps Valkenburg. I've spent quite a few New years in Valkenburg, without the caravan, it has occasionally snowed but the roads are quickly cleared.
Not been away over the xmas period, we did take the van away in Jan and Feb the one year, Rather than just goto the kids competition and back we made a long weekend of it.
The small domed porch awning is ideal (Sunncamp Panoramic).
Just 3 poles and pegs down quickly also. Plenty good enough to keep the rain off the door and somewhere dry to change your shoes if needed.
Go all year round, but never done Xmas and New Year.
But on the bucket list.
I know aroud here that plenty seem to book at xmas and New year.

We spent 4 nights of -9 in Derbyshire, it didnt get much above freezing during the day, if the weather get cold enough to freeze, use a bucket instead of the water hog at night its easier to empty a frozen bucket, we stand the water barrels on polstyrene and covered the barrel with an old jacket, pump through the arm. We always use a porch awning with a storm lashing, try to get a hardstanding pitch, we have had some really wet New Years, other than that enjoy.
Some Caravan Club Cetres used to do Christmas and New Year rallies.WeAttended many and they were really good. It may be that some centres still do them.

We're with Devon and Cornwall CAMHC and going to a Rally for New Year in Charmouth Dorset -
She starts her new job in a few weeks time, but then doesn't know if she'll get the time off...
Even though it's moving 'internally' in the NHS, she hasn't had (actually been denied) her holiday entitlement when she's wanted it - only when they said so ( as certain people seemed to be 'favoured' over others when booking holidays).
So when she starts this job, we'll have to wait and see what happens...
