Now I know that my husband says he's sure he'll be able to replace the flyscreen/blind in the rooflight in our washroom that yours truly accidentally put her hand through, (don't ask), but................ just incase he should get stuck, are there any helpful video clips or list of instructions how to do it anywhere please?
He's ordered a replacement thingy that has both the flyscreen and blind in today, so we're all hoping that it will be as straightforward as HE thinks it will be
The rooflight flyscreen in your Elddis is very easy to replace and is attached by pushing it onto the two lugs on the back of the roof vent.
If you have the flyscreen with the spring loaded blind it is probably a Hartal 400 x 400. The flyscreen and blind are separate parts and it is easier to fit the blind onto the flyscreen before attaching to the rooflight. Rotate the flyscreen on its spindle to tighten the spring, and fit the pins into the small holes at the back of the rooflight.
If the spring on the original blind is still working, keep it, as they are very expensive (for what they are) to replace.
Thank you everso much chaps! Will print off the instructions Humberwolf so that I have them on hand, should hubby find himself in a pickle when the parts arrive. Best to be prepared methinks.
Sadly though Jeff, when I clicked on your link, it just showed an 'hmm cannot reach this page' message but thank you so much anyhoo.
Well Humberwolf!!!!!! What can I say but a humungous THANK YOU for your helpful instructions. I'd copied and pasted your reply into a word document so that I could print it off, to be on hand IF my hubby got into a pickle.
The part only arrived half an hour before we were setting off to load up and hitch up our tin tent on it's storage site! So, the instructions went with us and on the first night whilst sitting with a nice cuppa and chilling out after a visit from our son and his family, I mentioned that I'd 'found' some instructions on how to replace that roof-light. To my surprise, he was pleased I'd had the foresight to look for the instructions, (not his usual reaction),
Suffice to say, he immediately finished his cuppa and tackled the job with SUCCESS and no foul language required so we were both very happy. Apart from one teeny little thing.......he'd ordered the cream coloured surround and it turns out, ours should have been the ivory one I said it hardly matters since it's hidden away in the washroom, but he's now ordered the ivory one anyway and will replace the cream one, which I think we should save as a handy replacement in the front locker just in case I accidentally stick my hand through another one until we could get another ivory one.
Hoping NOT to do anymore damage to my tin tent of course, but with me.......ya just never know these days
So thanks again Humberworlf you're a Thanks to you too Jeff for sending me to that video link, no idea why I couldn't access it though. But I'm sure it would have perfect
