Just bought our first awning and need a decent groundsheet - any tips or recommendations? It'll be used mainly for summer hols in France. Just wondering also what size to buy - same size as awning or slightly bigger or smaller?
This is the stuff we have used for years. Get the same size as awning or close enough.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Agreed. What you dont want is the rubberised stuff of old. Which is heavy, and stinks when wet. Ideally you would get the same size, then it will sit on your awning flaps when tucked under. If its oversized, it will be awkward in doorways and corners.
Isabella Bolon carpeting is very good, but best bought on line and not from your caravan dealer for best price. This stuff also folds up very compactly, even for a large awning, and in use the creases from folding quickly disappear
We use different types on hard standings we always put the blue tarpaulin type you can buy in DIY stores light and cheap lots of uses .
We also have breathable ground sheet . It is nice but Not light weight and still needs scrubbing if it's wet on the ground . Our last site had mud squirting between the breathable gaps and our feet were wet when walking on it . It did rain a lot .
We have also recently bought the breathable squares that fit together like a jigsaw . These are amazing . Lovely to walk on soft warm very light and easy to wipe or wash . We started with one pack of four and have now bought another two packs this is enough for us . We love them .
