Can anyone help or guide me through the procedure for fixing the winterhoff hitch.After lifting the hitch to drop the plastic tow ball the hitch handle has gone passed the metal stops and is now in a position where I can't get it back into it's original state, anyone have any ideas please?
So you have lifted the hitch handle and released the plastic security ball. That's how I read your post.
Now for the hitch handle to return to the locked position it requires either the plastic security ball pushed back into the hitch or if putting the caravan on your car the tow ball into the hitch then the handle should lock back down automatically.
This is a safety feature of the Winterhoff - you can't lower the handle without either the plastic ball or the metal tow hitch in place. Its a good piece of kit.
