i just wanted to ask, what kind of heating system do you experienced caravanners use, like + most importantly recommend for heating your caravans with, economically + reliably.

You will google Alde heating & find it's wet central heating for caravans. What is your budget? £20oddk & trade in for new every 4yrs? Then get one with Alde heating.
Or are you looking for few yrs old secondhand with cheap as poss running costs? Then stick with gas heater which you probably won't use because you will bring an electric fan heater, convector heater or oil filled rad because you will be paying for Ehu anyway. That's the cheap & reliable way to heat a caravan.
I have blown air and find it very good, but it depends on what caravan its fitted in. I like it because of the low power use when off hook up.
Never had a wet system so its better to listen to those who've experienced both.
Alde heating is very good. However like all heating systems it depends on how it's been installed. Not enough convectors then your van will be slow to warm. The main We have had Truma system and with the ducting running inside the van it was fine. The main advantage of the Alde imho is that you can set the time clock to automate the switching off and on, but I get the impression a lot of people don't bother we do. I had a conversation with someone today about the Whale heating system they complained it was very noisy on start up and used a lot of battery power when not on ehu

A very cynical comment. Alde has been used for years and years so is readily available on older vans as well as new ones, and therefore available to almost any budget.
Fan heaters and the like are useful as an emergency back up, but you don't really want additional cables trailing at floor level for obvious safety reasons.
Alde heating is so good. Previous 'van had blown air and with an end bathroom which was always cold. As we caravan all year I used to aim a fan heater into the bathroom for when I had a shower. Now I can shower in the warm and dry the towels.
I fitted a slimline convection heater in our van lounge (Alddis Supreme with an island bed) Also have an oil filled rad which we put in the central shower. The van is always warm. (Both have thermostats) No noisy blown air.
Alde heating is better for all year use, but truma blown air is also fine for all but the coldest weather - depends on your budget and/or how much cold weather use your van will have.
