We have a ABI Dalesman 450/2 on a season pitch in Northumberland and wish to improve the base area and tidy the appearance.
It is situated at the top edge of a grass field.
It is on a slight incline ( nose to tail) and at the moment has rough substrate scattered around the base area of the van.
I have considered creating a perimeter using Decking boards as 'edging' and then having 20mm gravel cover as a filler (over weed preventive mat)
Has anyone done this recently? If so, I would appreciate any advice or problems encountered? I have a disability so want to do this as best I can with my limited mobility.
Thanks in advance, Paul.

I've used decking like that but not to site a caravan. You would need some posts to hold the decking from moving or even lifting and letting the gravel escape underneath. A post in each corner and more along the sides.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

Thanks John. The ground is quite hard so may have to secure the boards to a few metal spikes in order to keep boards upright and stable.
