Ok this may seem stupid question but do many of you use your shower in your van?
We have always stayed with using site facilities but found a cc site we may like to go to (having signed up of course! )but don't have any shower or toilet facilities.
We have a 2014 van and I know they say they are all sealed it we just feel it is biggest way of having damp issues further down the line.
my van is 12 years old, my wife never uses site facilities, we frequently stop where there are no facilities, we have logged over 800 nights in the van. We have no damp issues from it.
There is damp and there is damp. Damp caused by condensation is cured by ventilation and does not affect the structure of the van, damp caused by external water getting into the van is what causes the problem. Your van will have a complete waterproof layer between you and the wall structure, unless you make a whole in this layer you will have no damp issues, just wipe down as necessary and open the ventilators to let the condensation out after you have used it.
Showering in the van needs a different technique as you have strictly limited supply of water, my variation on this is use the shower to wet myself all over, turn off the shower, wash myself and then wash my hair, then rinse off with the shower. Others have variations on this theme, what is difficult is to leave the shower running the whole time.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
The wife uses the van shower all the time, I tend to use the onsite facilities if available, (I like space to move around). We do use CL's and CS's quite often so the van facilities are used by both of us, we have no concerns regarding damage to the shower and damp problems developing at a later date.
Using shower blocks on site is no different to using swimming baths because people are going to and fro from shower blocks with minor ailments such as Althete's Foot, Veruca's and probably other types of fungi which can be transferred to others. Because of this reason we prefer to use our own caravan shower as we can clean the floor as required and be confident that it's chemically clean.
I'm a believer that prevention is better than cure.
Regarding the shower running the whole time, I bought a 'Reich Carisma Lever Shower Head' which has a trigger so you can leave the hot and cold taps set as required and use the trigger to start and stop the water flow. That way you get the constant temperature you feel comfortable with and no worries about draining the water barrel.

I wear my crocs when showering in the shower block.
Is there a shower head that sprays out slowly or a finer spray so you use less water in the van? It gushes out of ours and the hot water tank is only 8 litres.
We use our shower all the time as we try to visit sites that don't have any facilities. I see you have a Swift and I don't think you will find the shower leaks at all. Had 5 Swifts and never had a leaking shower.
Use the caravans shower. Hooked up on a fully serviced pitch gives no problems as long as you use the shower sensibly. Why queue and take the walk to the toilet block when you have your own facilities on board !!!
I should think you wl be fine using the shower in your caravan. I have only used mine a couple of times and that was on fully serviced pitches. Not only will your water barrel run out your waste tank will fill just as quickly. I was able to leave mine running for the full length of time it took me to have my shower.
I do much prefer using the site showers and always wear crocs while showering. For us the full size walk in shower is a waste of space but we do enjoy having a full width bathroom.

Having sufficient water has never been a problem, but with only 10l of hot water it is good to use it sparingly in the shower.

If you use a showerhead with a trigger will the pump on the water tank be damaged if you stop the flow of water? Isn't there a micro switch in the tap which operates the pump,so the pump would carry on running wouldn't it?

On a pressurised system trigger shower heads work well. On micros witch systems if you use a trigger shower head the pump runs continuously.
