Hi I have been told that the best way to the Barnard Castle Caravan Club site is to avoid A688 because a bridge is closed and to go onto Scotch Corner I'm travelling from the Northeast on A1m any advice will be appreciated thanks
Which bridge is closed ? If it is the one over the river Tees - you won't have a problem coming from the North East as that bridge is after Barnard Castle.
If it is the one at Spennymoor - then the A1 and the A689 is a good route.
its easy from scotch corner r/about just turn left a66 then follow its signposted from there right turn takes you straight to site. its very nice you will enjoy spotless clean some nice shops in Barnard castle itself.
Dumplings, dont know when you're going but best way is scotch corner then a66. Dont take the first turn off for wagons, take the second. I find this route far better, then straight over at lights where bridge is and follow road. It is a lovely site and you have the c&c club site further along. If you continue even further through Cotherstone, theres a lovely site called Doe park. Its not a club site but its the only non club site I would recommend. You must go and see it and everyones lovely. Let me know how you get on. NOW best way to Newcastleton from a69 Newcastle. Which turnoff is best from 69. Do I continue onto m6 or do I come off beforehand. Thanks in advance
Whoateallthepies thanks for the info great help definitely will take you up on your recommendations always on the look out for good sites cheers. Now in regards to turnoff on 69 there is A6071 through Brampton but I've got to be honest I never been on it so I would hate you to follow it I've had enough nightmares following my sat nav. I'm sorry it's not much help. Once again thanks for your reply she normally gets me to check out nearby sites to where we are so she will be happy. Cheers mate
