Our caravan is in storage, a 2 hour drive away...we left a towel to soak up any drips in the fridge and promptly forgot and hubby closed the door! I think its worth the journey back before the next visit in 3 weeks time! Hubby says .....it will be fine...!!!! any comments please?
We left ours for 2 weeks with door closed by error a couple of weeks ago. Last weekend had to clean the mould off but it has come clean but had to remove all the trays/ shelves etc. won't be doing it again!
Depends how bothered you will be by what you find. It will be mouldy. Most of it will probably clean off, some may not. I speak from experience. I left mine a couple of weeks and most of it cleaned off but he rubber seal around the freezer door part is now discoloured in one place by the mould. I have even tried bleach and it wouldn't shift. Not major but I don't like it.
Go back. It's not worth leaving it. It's on your mind. Go and get it over and done with. Ours was left for a week, waste of holiday to clean when we could have been out and about.Had to be done as couldn't use it.
This also happened to us a couple of years ago by accident but to completely remove the unsightly mould we used 'Dettol Antibacterial Mould & Mildew Remover' spray which restored the fridge surfaces perfectly.

Thanks, for all your replies, hubby was prepared to go down today, but phoned to ask if the van was back in the storage area and hey presto the lovely lady site owner has told us to post the key and she will open the door. Hope its not too messy ,thatll be 3 days...so fingers crossed
